Hamilton Tang |
|
Mr. Tang is the Chief Executive of SMC. He is also a Director of SMC and all of SMC's subsidiaries and affiliates. His background includes being co-CEO of a regional entertainment
company, a private company engaged in multiplex cinemas across Asia (including the largest theatre company in Hong Kong and the largest non-PRC cinema company in mainland China), ticketing, family amusement centres, and Chinese language film distribution and production, from 1996 to 2000. Prior to this, Mr. Tang was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley & Company from 1991 to 1996 in the investment banking division in both New York and Hong Kong.
Mr. Tang received his JD-MBA from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School in 1991 and his undergraduate degree from Harvard College in 1985. |

Albert Hui |
|
Mr. Hui is an Associate Director of SMC. He has over ten years of experience in corporate finance, derivatives sales, business management and strategic planning. He began his career as an Analyst in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong, where he focused on providing corporate finance advices to regional clients in the Technology industry. In 2002, he was transferred to assist Morgan Stanley Asia’s Chairman & CEO, Mr. Alasdair Morrison, and was promoted to Associate one year later. In 2006, he joined the Risk Management Product Group of UBS to sell equity derivatives products to private banks in Hong Kong and Thailand, and was promoted to Associate Director nine months later. In 2007, he joined as an Assistant Vice President at the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) to be the personal assistant to the Chief Executive, Mr. Paul Chow, and in 2009, he was transferred to its Corporate Strategy Department to assist in the formulation of HKEx’s three-year Strategic Plan. He joined SMC in 2010.
Mr. Hui received his AB (Economics) from Harvard College in 2000 and MBA from Harvard Business School in 2006. He currently serves on the Board of the Harvard Club of Hong Kong and is a member of the HBSA HK Trust Fund Investment Advisory Committee. He was born and raised in Hong Kong and is a native Chinese and English speaker. |

San Eng |
|
Mr. Eng brings over fourteen years of private equity investments and entrepreneurial management experience in China and Asia. Mr. Eng is Chief Representative (China) for SMC. Previously, Mr. Eng had worked with a major US hedge fund on structured private equity deals in China and with AIG Investments managing the US$1.1 billion Asian Infrastructure Fund, which invested in firms such as China Unicom, Korea's Hansol PCS and BTSC, Bangkok's elevated rail. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Eng has started and managed companies in Internet telephony, retail and hospitality industries. Mr. Eng has served as Board or Advisor for many multinational Chinese and US firms in cross-border market strategy and fund raising initiatives. He started his career in strategy and management consulting with Accenture and AT Kearney in US and Asia.
Mr. Eng holds a BS Economics from the Wharton School with major in Entrepreneurial Management and an EMBA from CEIBS (China Europe International Business School). |

James Pu |
|
Dr. James Pu is a venture partner of SMC, responsible for deal sourcing and business development and government relations primarily in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang areas. Throughout Dr. Pu's career, he has held various technical and management positions at technology and information service companies such as PRI Automation, Rockwell Semiconductor Systems, and Ocen Communications Systems. He has founded his venture software company.
Dr. Pu holds a Ph.D., Systems and Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona, a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from same school, and a Bachelors degree of Electrical and Computer Engineering from Xi An Jiaotong University in China. |

Yan Chan |
|
Ms. Chan is a Manager of SMC. She has eight years of investment research and execution experience. Before joining SMC, Ms. Chan worked as Assistant Manager in Hutchison Port Holdings, the world's largest container terminal operator and a major division of the Hutchison Whampoa conglomerate. She was responsible for feasibility studies including due diligence and financial modeling on potential M&A projects. She also conducted port study reports covering business forecast, competitors' analysis, customer issues and recommendations. Before that, Ms. Chan worked as principal officer in Dah Chong Hong, part of the CITIC Group that is China's largest conglomerate, and was involved in several China joint venture projects.
Ms. Chan received her Master's degree in Practising Accounting from Monash University and her bachelor's degree in Economics from The University of Hong Kong. She also holds a certificate in Chinese Civil and Commercial Law from Tsinghua University. Ms. Chan was born in the Mainland China and is a native Chinese speaker. |

Kevin Ren |
|
Mr. Ren is an Investment Director of SMC.
He began his career in the strategic planning team of Cemex (the world 3rd largest cement producer) in Singapore, where he focused on Asia Pacific M&A activities. Afterwards, he spent about four years in strategy and management consulting with L.E.K. in China, US and Australia, focusing on life science, consumer products and agriculture sectors.
Mr. Ren received a BA Economics from the University of Manchester and MSc Accounting and Finance from Manchester Business School. |

Sandy Ng
|
|
Ms. Ng is an Associate of SMC. She was Investment Manager for Xcelerate Ltd, Shanghai based investment firm focused on early stage companies, primarily doing deal development, evaluation, and execution. Previously, she was Project Development Manager in a Singapore-private equity fund focusing on seed stage projects based in Chengdu, China for three years. Prior to that she was managing and implementing enterprise wide IT projects in Singapore.
Ms. Ng graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
