SMC serves as the Asian investment office for Spectrum Value Management, a substantial European family office - investing in multiple asset classes including private equity, hedge funds, real estate and strategic investments. Through the family office activities, we have committed a significant amount of capital in Asia, and with more to come.
We believe there is no substitute for "on the ground" due diligence and financial discipline when it comes to investing. Over the years, we have conducted hundreds of meetings with fund managers, carried out extensive due diligence and rigorous quantitative analysis, and built a comprehensive database of best of breed fund managers in Asia. Post-investment, we monitor our investments closely and make appropriate asset allocation adjustments. Our goal is to achieve the optimal risk-adjusted returns for our principal.
SMC has also built a solid relationship with other family offices in the world, most notably those in Europe and the Middle East. Through this network, SMC has offered many valuable investment advisory services and attractive investment opportunities, and vice versa. This global reach enables us to capture many unique investment opportunities. |
